former White House advisor and foreign affairs writer
 Leah Pisar has just published a book on transatlantic relations, “Orage sur l’Atlantique: La France et les Etats-Unis face à l’Irak” (Fayard, 2010). In the Clinton administration, she served in the White House as Director for communications at the National Security Council, at the US State Department and the US Embassy in Paris. She is a founding member of the National Security Network and has been an adviser to the French-American Foundation, a visiting scholar at the Center for American Progress and the Institut Français des Relations Internationales. She is a frequent television, print and radio commentator on current affairs on both sides of the Atlantic. She holds a BA from Harvard College, a graduate degree from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques of Paris and a doctorate from the University of Paris II. She serves on the board of the French-American Foundation and the National Security Network, is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Young Leader of the American Council on Germany and was a 2009 « Rising Talent » of the Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society. |

Pisar has just published a book called "Orage sur l'Atlantique." This well-researched book is on the US-France debate over war in Iraq based on Pisar's PhD thesis. This evening's discussions will be centered around a non-fiction book written in French by a Harvard-educated Franco-American writer-academic and former White House official. |
