The distinguished author of "ArtScience" and inventor of innovative and affordable vaccine delivery systems, Harvard Professor David Edwards, received last month the "Chevalier des Arts & Lettres" decoration, a most prestigious award granted by the French Ministry of Culture. David Edwards is a young philanthropist, scientist, inventor, professor, and founder of the innovative space "Le Laboratoire" in Paris ( http://www.lelaboratoire.org ). He is the Gordon McKay Professor of the Practice of Biomedical Engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University.
He was decorated by Minister of Culture Chief of Staff Jean-François Hébert in recognition of his achievements in interdisciplinary work to bridge art and science in France and the United States.
More than 100 guests, including leaders in the fields of culture and science - gallery owners, members of the press, publishers, sponsors - as well as newly arrived American Fulbright grantees, attended the award ceremony at the residence of the US Ambassador to France.
